Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed Decision No. 542/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2026, approving the election results for the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the term 2026-2031 for Mr. Tran Van Dung, member of the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030, and permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the term 2021 - 2026; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu - Member of the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap Province for the term 2021-2026; Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan—Member of the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap Province for the term 2021-2026; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien is a member of the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term and vice chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term. The decision takes effect from the date of signing.

Earlier, on the morning of March 30, 2026, at the inaugural session of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council, 2026 - 2031, the following positions were elected: Chairman, Vice-Chairmen, and Members of the Provincial People's Committee, 11th term, 2026 - 2031. Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai was re-elected as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term with 100% of the delegates voting in favor; Mr. Tran Van Dung, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, and Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien were also re-elected as Vice-Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term with high-confidence votes.
