Dong Thap province congratulates the Indian Republic Day on January 26
On Indian Republic Day (January 26, 1950-January 26, 2024), Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Chairman of Dong Thap Province's People's Committee (PPC), sent a letter of congratulations to Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Consulate General's staff.
Through the Consulate General and personally Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Chairman of the PPC, congratulates the Indian people on the occasion of the country's most significant historical day, Republic Day of India (January 26, 1950-January 26, 2024). This is a significant milestone that establishes the foundation for India's development to become the great power it is today.
In the letter, the PPC Chairman writes that Vietnam and India have a long-standing, historic relationship based on trade, cultural exchange, art, and religious ties. The historic 1954 meeting between President Ho Chi Minh and Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru brought Vietnam and India closer together.
The Chairman of the PPC hopes that the Consulate General will continue to coordinate with Dong Thap Province to strengthen diplomatic activities between the people of Vietnam and India, as well as serve as a trade bridge to connect businesses in both countries, increasing cohesion and tightening the friendship between the two peoples, bringing the relationship between the two countries deeper and more sustainable development.

On June 28, 2023, in Dong Thap province, the Trade and Investment Cooperation Conference between India and Dong Thap province took place. Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives from over 130 Indian enterprises attended the conference. The conference provided possibilities for exchange and collaboration between Indian firms and Dong Thap provincial businesses, as well as strengthened the relationship between the Dong Thap province administration and the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. |
