Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thien Nghia is acknowledging the efforts of the the Forum organizers

With the desire to solve the central problem of green - modern - sustainable agriculture transformation to create a breakthrough for the regional economy, from December 19 to 20, 2022, Dong Thap hosted the Forum for Start-up at a regional scale, with the name "Mekong Startup Forum - the first time in 2022" and the theme "Modern, circular, low-emission agriculture".

The forum was consulted on the content of the Private Economic Development Research Board (Board IV of the Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform of the Prime Minister), the focal point for organization and communication: Newspaper VnExpress.

The forum attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 delegates who are leaders of central ministries and branches, leaders of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, economic experts, domestic and international policymakers, representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, industry associations, leaders of large enterprises, innovative start-ups, students and students interested in innovative start-ups etc.

In terms of media, VnExpress's report shows that there are nearly 100 media articles before, during and after the event; about 100,000 views, 47,000 Forum Landing users and over 300,000 views of Forum content on social networks.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thien Nghia acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the sectors and units that have contributed to the overall success of the Forum, thereby creating a good impression and enhancing the image of Dong Thap; at the same time, it is suggested that relevant departments and agencies need to study and draw experiences to organize this annual Forum in a new and more effective way.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia said that Dong Thap always cares and encourages start-up activities, stimulates the spirit of economic development among the people. The Mekong Startup Forum is an activity to concretize Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW of the 13th Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the Mekong Delta to the present. 2030, vision to 2045.

The forum has met the goal of raising awareness of all levels, sectors and businesses in the Mekong Delta about the problem of fighting climate change and reducing emissions according to the commitments of the Government of Vietnam in the international arena as well as new requirements from the market; at the same time promoting and grasping the proposals from the business community, especially the start-up sector, innovating on modern, efficient and sustainable agricultural production solutions, circular, low emission, environmentally friendly and adaptive to climate change – emphasized the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the professional sector to complete the Implementation Plan committed to building Dong Thap into an emission reduction center of the Mekong Delta region; At the same time, there is a plan to implement the following contents of the Forum, in which increasing calls for international organizations to participate in supporting start-up projects in the field of agriculture, etc.
